Paolo Gerbaudo wrote a book on his experiences with social media and activism. In his book he talks about twitter, Occupy Wall Street, Anonymous, Facebook, and the Indignados.

“The Revolution Will Not Be Tweeted”
Looking through the fence
Hash tags and re tweets
Who will come to their defense?
A child, a leader?
Take out the immortalizer

I certainly do not dare
Behind the fence I am no alarm.
Pen goes on paper
Fingers press on keys
We strive to be the change
But will we succeed?
